Meet our Administrator
Audrey Shirif, RN

Ever since I can remember, I have loved spending time with seniors. In fact, that deep connection is the primary reason I became a nurse. At just 13 years old, I stepped into a hospital as a volunteer candy striper. As I walked the halls delivering mail and flowers, I found myself captivated by the countless stories patients shared with me. From that moment on, I knew my life's calling was nursing, with a specific focus on senior care.
Shortly after graduating high school, I took my first formal step into the field as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). It was one of the most physically demanding and challenging jobs I have ever had, but it completely confirmed that I was on the right path. Driven by that passion, I saved enough money for nursing school and earned my degree from Oklahoma State University.
Within two weeks of graduation, I packed everything I owned into my car—including my beloved Pug, Chester—and hit the road. Knowing I wanted to dedicate my career to seniors, Florida and Arizona immediately came to mind. Choosing to avoid humidity and bugs, I pointed my car toward Arizona and never looked back.
Since relocating to Arizona in 1995, I have built a diverse and deeply rewarding career. I have served in skilled nursing facilities, worked as both a field and inpatient hospice nurse, and owned and operated several assisted living group homes. In 2007, I joined Centrix Health Resources as a hospice team manager and was promoted to Director of Clinical Services in 2010. While I loved the leadership aspect of that role, I deeply missed the day-to-day, direct interaction with seniors. This desire led me to DOVES in 2014, where I stepped into my current role as the Director of Nursing and Administrator.
Today, I could not be happier or more fulfilled. I am privileged to lead an amazing team, work directly with seniors every day, and share my life with the love of my life and our five happy, healthy children.
Warm regards,
Audrey Shirif
